Google launched the very first beta version of Android O in Annual Google I/O 2017. The developer preview was already available, and we all know how a buggy developer preview makes the device not-so-daily driver. Beta firmware is expected to be less buggy, and it can be used in the daily-driver, so in case you are bored with your current Android version, you can give it a try.
Though not all the Android devices will be supporting the latest beta update as it is at an early stage and testing is to be done on other devices with different firmware. Similar to the developer preview, the beta update is available for- Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Google Pixel, and the Google Pixel XL.
So, without wasting any time, let's see how to get your device updated to the latest Android Version.
At this time, the beta update is only available for few devices but the list will get an update, and more device will be added soon. If you are having any of the following devices then you can update to the latest Android version:
1. Google Pixel
2. Nexus 5X
3. Nexus 6P
4. Google Pixel XL
There are two ways to update the device:
1. Geeky way: Manually flashing the device ROM
2. Another way: Wait for software update (Update via OTA)
As the other method is already discussed, we are directly jumping onto the 'update via OTA.'
First, go to this link, and you can see the details of the beta version. The page will also state the list of the devices available for update.
Also, you can anytime opt-out yourself as a beta user.
Make sure you are signed in on this page with the same email id you are using on your phone. Now slide a little down, and you will see the list of your supported devices (if any). In case you see your device supported, then it will appear there, now click on 'Enroll Device.' And complete the process.
Now you are done from your side.
Now once you have done the above process, your device will receive the OTA update shortly. You will also get a notification regarding the same.
Once you receive the notification, follow the procedure and update your device.
