Facebook's Ninth Data Center Will Be Built In Papillion Which Is Great News For Us All!

Mark Zuckerberg has posted on Facebook, that they are announcing the construction of their ninth data center in Papillion, Nebraska. This is great news for people, from an environmental and employment point of view. Better yet, it will be online by 2020.Tom Furlong, the vice president of Facebook's infrastructure, said: “We want to move fast”. They feel the time is of utmost importance for Facebook. It is a 146-acre campus and will have two 450,000-square-foot buildings at Nebraska Highway 50 and Capehart Road. The best takeaway is that they will be powered by 100% clean and renewable energy.

This will be Facebook's sixth data center in the US. Its construction is expected to take around 18 months. And the two buildings will be accompanied by a 70,000-square-foot administrative building.

1,000 temporary construction jobs and around 100 permanent jobs, according to Facebook's spokeswoman, Lindsay Amos.Once the data centers are online, they will work 24x7x365.
